Whittington Urgent Care Centre

An urgent care centre based at The Whittington Hospital. The service will be open daily, 8 am to 10 pm and will be made up of local GPs and nurses who will provide urgent care for people living in Islington and West Haringey, or those visiting the area. This will work as part of a fully functioning, 24 hour, seven day a week, emergency department. The urgent care centre is part of the integrated care organisation and will provide excellent opportunities to improve and extend services to local people and will deal with cuts and bruises, simple fractures and other minor injuries plus support for patient with long term conditions who feel unwell and need to see a doctors.

Out of Hours Medical Advice 

Islington iHub Three hubs offer pre-bookable and on-the-day appointments; you can see a doctor or nurse in Islington between 6.30 - 8.00pm each weekday and between 8am and 8pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Many of the GP i:Hub doctors and nurses already work in Islington GP practices.

Expert Patient Programme (EPP) The Expert Patients Programme (EPP) is for any adult living in Islington who has one or more long-term health conditions such as asthma, arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), depression, diabetes, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), heart disease, sickle cell, HIV, ME/chronic fatigue, chronic pain or any other condition. The course is also available for carers.  The course is designed to help you cope with your health condition and improve your quality of life.

Text Relay Text Relay connects people using a textphone with people using a telephone or another textphone. It lets deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired people stay in touch with friends and family, and call businesses over the telephone..
British Sign Language (BSL) The surgery can provide online BSL/English interpreting in surgeries for same-day and short-notice appointments. this is provided by a video link portal.
The Elfrida Society The Elfrida Society is a charity for adults with learning difficulties based in Islington.  Their aim is to make it possible for people with learning difficulties to manage as much of their lives as they want and feel able to.
