Doctors in Training
The practice is a training practice and helps with the education of student doctors, newly qualified doctors known as Foundation Year 2 doctors and doctors training to be GPs known as Specialist Trainees (STs). When you make an appointment we aim to tell you if you will be seeing a doctor in training so that you have an opportunity to decide if you are happy to do this. Medical students sometimes sit-in on appointments as part of their training; please advise the doctor if you want the student to leave the consulting room. All student doctors and doctors in training are fully supported and supervised by the regular doctors of the practice. Each year we welcome up to six Foundation Year 2 (FY2) doctors to work with us. They are qualified doctors on placement in general practice to widen their experience.
Dr Nektarios Antoniou
Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
Senior Practice Nurse
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
Practice Based Pharmacist
First Contact Physiotherapist
Overall management and development of the practice is handled by Sherif and Jan. They are responsible for ensuring that high quality services are delivered to patients. They manage all the business, human resource and premises aspects of the practice. They support the Primary healthcare team and help develop extended services to enhance patient care.
The clinical staff are supported by a friendly and professional team of receptionists and administrative staff.
From time to time locum doctors are employed to cover surgeries (and occasionally visits) during doctors' holidays. These doctors are fully qualified GPs and members of the GMC. They are also officially registered on the Performer's List of a Primary Care Trust.
